Abstract

In the context of social and personal crises, the issue of coping strategies among young people becomes particularly relevant, as high levels of stress increase the risk of emotional burnout.

The aim of the study is to identify the relationships between coping strategies and the level of emotional burnout among young people in crisis situations. The main focus is on the analysis of adaptive and maladaptive coping strategies and their association with the components of burnout: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment.

The scientific significance of the study lies in clarifying the psychological mechanisms underlying the development of burnout in youth, while its practical significance is associated with the possibility of developing preventive programs. The methodological basis of the research includes the Ways of Coping Questionnaire by R. Lazarus and S. Folkman and the Maslach Burnout Inventory by C. Maslach; quantitative and correlation analysis methods are applied.

The results make it possible to determine which coping strategies contribute to the reduction or intensification of burnout. It is assumed that problem-focused strategies are associated with lower levels of burnout, whereas avoidance is associated with higher levels. The value of the study lies in its contribution to the development of coping behavior theory and the prevention of emotional burnout among young people, and its practical significance is reflected in the application of the findings in psychological support programs.
